DigiMaster X32 DECODING COMPUTER THE ROCK LOK INPUT CIRCUIT is standard on the DIgiMaster X32. It reduces clock recovery jitter 2500:1 over standard phase lock loop (PLI-) circuits. THE SLEDGEHAMMER OUTPUT BUFFER/DRIVER: The DigiMaster X32 has a monolithic version of the Sledgehammer as a standard feature. It provides 400 mA of transient peak current drive with a 1300 volt per microsecond slew rate. DIGITAL DOMAIN SIGNAL INVERTING is front-panel selectable. EXCLUSIVE MULTI-LAYER PC BOARDS: The PC boards represent the most critical passive components of the system. The Wadia uses highest quality multilayer PC boards. Signal integrity Is preserved by means of multiple ground-planes and massive power-planes. Signal traces run on Inner layers shielded by and referenced to the ground-planes for constant impedance from DC to the high mega-Hz region. UPGRADEABILITY: The DigiMaster X32 consists of 2 PC boards with most digital circuit functions contained within two massive, socketed VLSI chips (one with 64 pins and one with 84 pins) for ease in future upgrading. MORE COMPUTING POWER: The DigiMaster X32 configuration utilizes two advanced parallel pipelined architecture AT&T Digital Signal Processing chips operating in parallel at 36-MHz. This generates over 36-MIPS (million Instructions per second) of real-time computing power. (As a comparison, the IBM PC TM operates at about 0.7-MIPS and the IBM AT TM at about 3-MIPS.) DITHERING is used in the rounding?off of the 36-bit numbers. This minimizes the round-off error and least significant bit bias; and, according to literature sources, enhances the effective information dynamic range. USER OPTIONS include the standard DigiMasterTM software; the FRENCHCURVE software; other time-domain and Interpolation algorithms such as CSpline; general and advanced dithering techniques; routines to lower the noise floor; extra headroom; auto digital de-emphasis; computer enhancement routines such as convolution, deconvolution and correlation; and, Finite Impulse Response (FIR) and certain Infinite Impulse Response algorithms with 192 taps per channel. PASSIVE DE-EMPHASIS:, De-emphasis, when switched-in, is accomplished by means of a totally passive circuit for premium sonic quality. HEAVY-DUTY POWER SUPPLY: The power supply is a major component of the audio signal path. The power supply for the DigiMaster X32 is extra heavyduty and features a toroid transformer and multi-stage regulation for each individual circuit element. Linear regulation is used exclusively. Absolute isolation is provided between channels and between the analog and digital circuitry from the Mega-Hz region down to the music " swell and ebb" frequencies (under 1 Hz). The AC input module features RF filtering and is switchable between 115 and 220 VAC. MORE INPUT OPTIONS: The DigiMaster X32 has two coax S/P DIF inputs and one EIAJ fiber optic input. It automatically senses and decodes the inputted sampling rate - 44.1 K, or 48 K -samples/sec. PREMIUM GOLD?PLATED RCA?type connectors are used on the analog outputs. They can drive 600 ohms.
